Let's talk about the use of Nise tablets to relieve toothache - does this drug really help, and what is important to know before using it ...

Next you will learn:

  • How well and whether Nise helps everyone with toothache;
  • Are Nise tablets effective in acute toothache and how to use them correctly;
  • What is important to know in order not to harm yourself by taking the drug, and what effective analogues it can be replaced.

Nise is a pain medication widely known today, which in most cases has a rather pronounced effect and therefore enjoys well-deserved popularity among consumers. In addition, Nise tablets are often sold in pharmacies without a prescription (contrary to the standards - as is often the case in Russia) and are very inexpensive, which allows them to easily win the competition with other painkillers.

Nise is produced by the Indian company Dr. Reddy’s, the cost of packing it on 20 tablets is about 150 rubles. Also, the drug is available in the form of a suspension and a 1% gel for external use (gel for toothaches is not used, so do not even try to buy it in a pharmacy or swallow it).

The manufacturer of the drug is the Indian company Dr. Reddis Laboratories Ltd.

And this photo shows Nise gel - it’s useless to use it for toothache.

On a note

It is noteworthy that many people, once having tried to use Nise for toothache, always always keep this drug in their home medicine cabinet, along with iodine and a bandage. That is, in fact, as a proven means for first aid.

Nevertheless, despite the large number of laudatory reviews and the overall positive image of Nise among buyers, these pills have certain disadvantages, because of which doctors often recommend that their patients use alternative drugs in case of toothache. We will talk about these features a little lower ...

Feedback

“I can say for sure that Nise helps with toothache very well. If I have a hole somewhere that hurts, or as always the gum swells between my teeth, then I just take one Nise pill, drink it, that's all. Then the whole day I don’t remember about pain. Usually it’s not necessary anymore - either by the time I manage to get to the doctor, or the inflammation on the gum disappears itself ... ”

Olga, Serpukhov

The composition of the drug, its effectiveness and strength

The active ingredient in Nise tablets is a substance called nimesulide (by the way, the same thing that works in Nimesil powder, which is sometimes prescribed to children). This remedy is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits the synthesis of substances responsible for inflammation and pain, the so-called prostaglandins, for the duration of their action. Consequently, even if a person already has an acute toothache, Nise usually leads to its gradual decay and even almost complete absence within 3-4 hours.

The active component of Nise is the substance nimesulide.

Practice shows that Nise helps a lot with mild to moderate toothache. The drug also effectively dulls severe and very acute pain sensations, but sometimes the aching pain at the same time remains with the person.

The drug helps quite well even with acute pain, although it does not always completely relieve it.

Feedback:

“Once this time it turned out to be so painful to tear a tooth, I just did not expect it. The past eight a year ago crunched and popped out without problems. And then, Christmas trees, sticks, for half an hour I was only gummed, and my sensitivity was not lost. I didn’t seem to worry, I didn’t adrenaline, but the doctor put four syringes in me, while I started to pull. But what is that! Three hours later, when the anesthesia was released, the nightmare generally began. And the hole itself from the tooth aches, and all the injection sites hurt. Right nowhere to go. I called the doctor, asked, said she needed a drink. Took from a neighbor, drank 1 tablet. Do not believe it, the terrible pain completely disappeared in just an hour, I feel everything in my mouth, but it is not pain. Only the next day in the morning there was still a little ache, but already it was possible to eat normally. So my verdict is this: Nyz from a toothache helps perfectly, use it for health. ”

Lisa, Smolensk

Keep in mind that the effect of Nise is not absolute. Even judging by the reviews, in some people these pills do not cause pain reduction at all, while in others it has only an antipyretic effect.

It is also interesting to note this point: the instructions for use of the drug Nise indicate that it has a pronounced anti-inflammatory activity. Some smart comrades (future patients of dental clinics) make a seemingly logical conclusion - if you take Nise with pulpitis (which is often accompanied by acute throbbing pain that intensifies at night), that is, the hope that the inflammation of the pulp inside the tooth will disappear and it, so to speak , healed, then you can not go to the dentist for another month or two.

Although Nise has anti-inflammatory properties, she will certainly not be able to eliminate pulp inflammation in pulpitis ...

Well, if such thoughts visit someone, you will have to disappoint - Nise is not able to have a significant impact on the course of the pathological process in pulpitis, periodontitis, etc. problems. Pills really help relieve pain, but do not count on a healing effect.

By the way ...

In the instructions for the use of the drug, Nise says: "The progression of the disease is not affected."

Extract from the instructions for use of the drug Nise.

Rules for the use of Nise tablets

The use of Nise is slightly different for tablets and for suspension.

Tablets are prescribed for adults and adolescents having a body weight of more than 40 kg. They can drink one tablet twice a day. If a toothache (or other) quickly resumes, the interval between tablets can be shortened, but you cannot drink more than 4 tablets in a day.

Even with a strong and rapidly recurring toothache, you can not take more than four tablets of the drug per day.

Tablets are conventional and dispersible. According to the instructions, each dispersible tablet before administration should be dissolved in a teaspoon of water, and then drink the entire solution. This is done after a meal. In the case of conventional tablets, they are simply washed down with a sufficient amount of water, also after a meal.

Feedback

“I had pulpitis a month ago, acute, in two days an extensive inflammation appeared and my cheek was swollen. The pain was very severe, but I could not get to the dentist right away. I had to buy painkillers. Analgin almost did not help, only slightly muffled the pain. But Nise managed to cheer, there was no pain the whole second day, drank another pill at night and slept normally. But there are side effects: after two tablets of Nise, stomach pain and diarrhea began, she was even afraid that I could not go to the doctor. Came, removed the nerve, after that nothing hurt anymore. In general, as an anesthetic, Nise helps well. ”

Christina, Kandalaksha

Nise's suspension of toothache is prescribed for children from two to 12 years old. The dose here is 3-5 mg per kilogram of the child’s body weight, divided into two doses. It is advisable to take the suspension before meals, but if the child has unpleasant sensations, then the method can be moved and the suspension should be drunk at the end of the meal (of course, the fact of taking the drug must be agreed with the doctor).

This is what Nise's slurry packaging looks like.

And regardless of whether the tablets are taken, or suspension, the duration of the drug should not exceed 10 days. During this time, you can always find a way to visit the dentist.

Side effects and contraindications

The main disadvantage of the Nise drug compared to many analogues is the abundance of a wide variety of side effects. So, for example, Nise can cause:

  1. Heartburn, nausea, abdominal pain, hepatitis, diarrhea;
  2. Skin rash and, in rare cases, anaphylactic shock;
  3. Anemia, thrombocytopenia and agranulocytosis;
  4. Dizziness and headache;
  5. The presence of blood in the urine.

Moreover, the risk of developing these side effects is higher, the longer Nise is taken. Dentists are well aware of these features of the drug, and therefore, Nise is rarely prescribed for toothache. But ordinary buyers usually learn about such side effects after the purchase, and often do not even pay attention to warnings, using the drug “at random” and often with violations of the instructions.

Strict contraindications to taking the drug are:

  1. Any violations of blood formation;
  2. The so-called "Aspirin triad" - aspirin intolerance, bronchial asthma and polyps in the nose;
  3. Hepatitis;
  4. Pregnancy;
  5. The presence of blood in urine or feces;
  6. Diseases of the stomach and intestines;
  7. Dermatoses
  8. Children's age up to 2 years.

Contraindications Nise ...

With lactation, Nise is also contraindicated, but if the doctor still insists, then if necessary, he will have to interrupt breastfeeding. With high blood pressure, diabetes and heart failure, the use of the drug Nise for toothache (and any other) should be agreed with the doctor.

Feedback

“... That did not cure simple caries in time, sat in the tenth week of pregnancy and was afraid to go to the dentist. Endured. Today the child (3 months) left her mother for two hours and ran to do something with this tooth. They removed the nerve, put a temporary seal. But still the tooth is very sore under the filling. Nise bought the pills, but my mother pulled me at the last moment, because he can’t be breastfed. I called the doctor, he also banned. Now I go, I endure. I’d have cured it in time, now I wouldn’t remember about this tooth. ”

Julia, Irkutsk

What analogues can replace Nise?

Perhaps the main advantages of Nise tablets are their rather high efficiency, low price and the ability to freely buy in a pharmacy (though not always and not in any, as sometimes they ask for a prescription). Due to these advantages, the drug is often bought instead of safer and more delicate counterparts.

So, for example, Paracetamol and drugs based on it, including Efferalgan, which are used to drinking to relieve temperature, turn out, strangely enough, to be quite similar to Nise's pills in terms of potency, but at the same time they are much safer for health. Often, dentists prescribe Paracetamol for toothache in children.

To relieve toothache, there are much safer analogues that can replace Nise tablets.

The analgesic effect of taking Nurofen is also comparable to that of Nise, although the latter relieves inflammation better.

On a note

The well-known Analgin is also cheaper than Nise, and at the same time has a slightly less pronounced analgesic effect. However, it should be borne in mind that the use of dipyrone and preparations based on it are prohibited today in many countries of the world (but not in Russia). The reason for this is the ability of analgin to cause a very dangerous complication for human life - agranulocytosis.

And in conclusion, we note again that no matter how well the pain medication helps with the appearance of toothache, tablets alone will not solve the problem. The peculiarity of the teeth is that if they are already ill, they themselves will not be healed, so the sooner you make an appointment with the dentist, the less problems you will earn in the future.

    At 17:30 today they treated me for caries, sort of like small holes, prevention, so to speak. Not hurt, without anesthesia, it hurt a little, but bearable. Finished in half an hour. Around 7, aching pain started, Nise drank. After 30 minutes, another tablet. Somewhere around 8 the pain calmed down a bit, but remained strong enough. Now is 0:30, and the pain is in place. I’m very tired, I hope that I can sleep. At 11 to the doctor.

    A terrible pain, the jaw is already twisting, the feeling is such that the tooth comes out of the bone. The gum is swollen and underneath the jaw everything is swollen and sore. I drank two tablets Nise, after 1.5 hours two citramons ... And only now, after 45 minutes, the pain began to subside a little! The jaw aches, and a bad tooth is not an insured accident on vacation ... Tolerate two more days before home, to the doctor ... Friends who read this comment, I sincerely ask you, do not delay the visit to the dentist, do not repeat my mistake. I dreamed of getting to the paradise islands in Thailand, and now everything is not a joy!

    From a toothache, Nise is the strongest - I tried everything in my time, from folk remedies to potent painkillers. But Nise proved to be the best. Yes, he and the doctor recommended it to me - I started my teeth after childbirth, there was no way to treat, and then I had to remove several at once, and almost everything was treated. So, it was Nise who helped me deal with this nightmare. As soon as the tooth started to ache, I drank 1 tablet, then, after 12 hours, another one.

    Nise, it seems, is addictive ... At first, the pain removes, and then it is already ineffective. Cognac helps me. As soon as a sharp and severe pain, keep in your mouth where it hurts. Takes minutes after 2.

    Three nerves were removed from a wisdom tooth yesterday to prepare for prosthetics. Before that, he was not sick, and now, by the evening he got sick. The doctor prescribed nimesulide, he acted until 5 in the morning, and in the morning it hurts so much that the white light is not nice. I drank it in the morning, but a little sense, and I don’t know how to relieve the pain. So there is no panacea for pain.

    Nise helps me great! Removed aching pain from a tooth in 5 minutes and inflammation too. The other day I removed this tooth. After the anesthesia was gone, I drank a pill and no hint of pain for 10 hours. For me, this is the best pain remedy at the moment, because Ketorol, Ketanov, Pentalgin N (by prescription) do not help me, although I have never dabbled in these drugs. Nise try not to abuse it. All according to the instructions. The shorter the course, the better. Do not be ill!

    On Wednesday the canals were re-filled (old filling), the tooth still hurts today. The third day I drink Nise. One tablet a day helps. I got up at night, drank (aching pain, it hurts to press a tooth). It does not hurt anymore. It is still painful to press, but you can not press it)) Today (Friday) to the dentist for a control x-ray and a permanent seal.

    When the wisdom tooth was removed, it was also such a terrible pain and swelling, Nise also drank. 2-3 tablets per day (3 - in the first two days only). Just drank 4-5 days. It helped me.

    In general, I am sick (colds, muscles sprained, etc.) rarely - maybe once a year. For possible pain I drink Nise.

Either auto-suggestion, or a really good drug, but the pain subsides.
